Spam and Do Not Call Compliance Statement
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Aaron Kersten trading as Get AKAI (ABN 50 179 250 215) complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth).
Email and SMS: consent
We only send commercial emails and SMS messages where we have consent. That is either express consent (for example, you ask us to send you details or to keep in touch) or consent that the Spam Act allows us to infer: for example, from an existing business relationship, or where a business has conspicuously published its work email address and our message is relevant to that business. We don't send commercial messages to an address that says it doesn't want unsolicited messages. We do not buy or rent email or phone lists.
Identification
Every commercial message we send clearly identifies Get AKAI as the sender and includes our contact details (akai@getakai.ai).
Unsubscribe
Every commercial message includes a simple, free way to unsubscribe (an unsubscribe link, replying to the email, or replying STOP to an SMS). We honour unsubscribe requests within 5 working days, and we keep a record so we don't contact you again.
Phone calls and the Do Not Call Register
- Sophie, our AI receptionist, answers inbound calls to Get AKAI and to our clients' Sophie numbers. We do not make outbound telemarketing calls on behalf of our clients.
- Before Get AKAI makes any call about its own services, we check ("wash") the number against the Do Not Call Register unless the person has consented to be called, and we keep a record of each check. We follow the calling hours and identification rules in the Telecommunications (Telemarketing and Research Calls) Industry Standard 2017.
- At the start of every call, Sophie and our outreach assistant say they are an AI assistant and that the call is recorded and transcribed. If you'd rather not be recorded, just say so: no recording of that call is kept, the transcript is deleted, and we arrange a call back instead. See our Privacy Policy.
Service messages
Messages that only give factual information, such as confirming, changing or reminding you about a booking, or replying to your enquiry, still identify the business and give its contact details. We don't add promotional content to them unless the consent and unsubscribe rules above are also met. Booking texts include a "Reply STOP" option for non-essential messages.
Our clients
Our clients are responsible for their own marketing, including any commercial emails or SMS they send themselves and any outbound calls they make. Our services are designed to support compliance: lead alerts go to the client by email, and Sophie only handles inbound calls and related replies.
